October in Review

A while ago, I received an awesome watermelon puzzle.  The only problem was that it was 2,000 pieces!  I started by putting the edges together, but that was as far as I got. Then Andrea started working on it . . . . It now looks amazing.
Thank you Andrea for having the patience to complete this crazy and difficult puzzle.
General Conference was this month.  Seth took this picture while we were watching a session. I love it because it shows that there are a lot of things you can do while listening to the prophets speak.
Baily and Seth have been friends for many years. It has been so fun watching them grow up together. YM activities, scouts, and dances have kept these boys busy.
We were able to go up to Chico this weekend and listen to Baily's mission farewell--he is leaving to go on a mission to Mexico.  That evening we were also able to go to his eagle scout court of honor.  These are some good looking future missionaries who still love to have fun!

Sadie's Dance

Seth was asked to another Sadie Hawkins dance this weekend by his friend Paige.
They went with a group of friends and all sported comic hero t-shirts.  The girls decided to have a progressive dinner before the dance so they visited several homes until they were all full.
It's so much fun to see Seth having a good time with some great friends.

Anniversary Getaway

WOW--22 Years!
After all these years, it was wonderful to go back and visit the Oakland temple where it all began.
We also took advantage of a work training for Aaron and used it to enjoy some time together.  We stayed in San Mateo, but since we were so close to the coast, we drove over to Half Moon Bay to enjoy the ocean together.
~A big thanks to Andrea for being  the "adult in charge" while we were gone~

Labor Day

We started the weekend by going with my parents to a temple session at the Sacramento Temple.  While we were there, a good family friend was having her adopted children sealed to her and husband and invited us to attend.  It was a wonderful day spending time at the temple with family and friends.
Seth started his weekend by spending the WHOLE day at the lake with friends.
On Labor Day, we headed north to Paradise to do some 4-wheeling.  Both Seth and Andrea learned how to ride a dirt bike.  We had a great time riding the mountain trails and getting VERY dirty!  I guess if you want to have fun, a little dirt must be involved.

Just another day . . . .

This is just another day in the Chatfield home . . . .

I think it's fun to capture our lives when nothing new, exciting, or special is happening like cooking, sleeping, smiling, and playing.

Remembering the normal, everyday things is what makes life so grand!

Happy 13th Kiana!

Kiana invited her YW friends from church to come and celebrate her 13th birthday with her.
Pizza, smores, gifts and games kept the girls busy for several hours!
She is very lucky to have so many great friends!
CUTE & CRAZY!
The next day we invited family and neighbor friends to come over in the afternoon and celebrate some more with Kiana.  An M&M cake and a scavenger hunt to find a red wagon were included in the fun for the day.  To conclude the party, she requested Hometown Buffet for dinner.
I think Kiana LOVES being 13!

School is cool!

And they are off to their 1st day of 12th & 8th grade!

Now that school is back in session, Seth comes home ravished!
We call this his mega meat sandwich! (salami, pepperoni, turkey, roast beef)
Back to school shopping . . . . matching shoes?
This year, since Seth is a senior, he decided to buy a parking spot at the high school.  He, Andrea, and Kiana spent most of the day designing and painting his spot--It looks amazing!

Color Run

Color Run 2014--Sacramento, Ca
I have always wanted to do this 5k run after hearing about it several years ago.  I finally convinced my family to do it with me.  We also got together with the Noall family and made it a group affair.
Running + Color = FUN!
Would we do this again . . . . YES!
Kiana did miss out on the fun this time but,  . . . . she was busy at girl's camp having her own fun!

Hot summer days

Temple Trip--Youth trip to the Sacramento Temple
Girl's Camp--Kiana attended Girl's Camp this year as a second level--this was the only picture I have, but she says she had a great time!
Shark Attack--this was a picture Andrea helped create at BYUI to comment on the recent flood.
It quickly went viral!
Andrea's Home--what better way to celebrate than to stay up late talking . . . . and then sleeping in!

Bear Lake Part 3

With every reunion, you have to take the traditional family pictures.
We can be serious, but it's more fun to be crazy!
Some of the best time was just being together.  Although not everyone was able to make it to the reunion this year, we still enjoyed being with those who came.
Whether it was relaxing on the couch, watching a movie, or making food,
it was great to be together all in the same place.
Thank you Uncle Gary & Aunt Kathryn for planning a great reunion!

Bear Lake Part 2

Of course Bear Lake was the highlight of the reunion, but we also did some other fun activities like rock climbing and hiking.
Thanks to Uncle Kyle for bringing the rock climbing gear which gave everyone an opportunity to try to scale a very large boulder.
Hold on tight--don't look down--you're doing Awesome!
While a group was climbing, the rest of us went on a simple hike which lead us to a small lake by a glacier.  We dipped our feet into the chilly water and let the younger boys do some rock climbing of their own.

Bear Lake Part 1

-LEFEBVRE REUNION 2014-
Well, we made it to Bear Lake for our family reunion.
We had never been there before--it was BEAUTIFUL!
We spent four glorious days exploring the area and enjoying our surroundings with some GREAT people!
It's amazing the great pics you can get while you have nothing to do.  One of our family activities was taking  a tour of the Minnetonka Caves.  However, we had to wait over an hour for the tour to start, so we spent the time relaxing with family, eating snacks, and taking pictures.
We also spent A Lot of time by the water.  The lake reminded me of the beach since it had some amazing sand that enabled us to make many sand creations. One day we rented a boat along with a paddle board so we could enjoy the lake even more.

Utah

Our one vacation this summer was another trip out east to Utah.  We were going to my family's reunion in Bear Lake, but we went out early to visit Heather and her family.  While we were there, we were also able to attend Jesse's wedding.
Trying to keep cool and also to keep the kids busy, we all went bowling one afternoon.
Before heading north to the reunion, we stopped by temple square and the conference center.
I love this place!

July the 4th!

We spent the day with family and friends--swimming, eating, visiting,
and of course watching fireworks.  All we had to do was walk outside our house--many in our neighborhood spent big bucks on a light show and we were the lucky recipients.

Life is Grand!
