Wow! It seems like school starts earlier each year. On August 12th the kids were back in school. The kids are now attending 3 different schools. Andrea is a 9th grader at PV High School, Seth is a 7th grader at Bidwell Jr. High, and Kiana is now a 3rd grader at Neal Dow Elementary.

It's Great to be Eight!
Kiana had a makeover-sleepover party for her 8th birthday. The girls had a great time doing their hair, faces, and nails with beauty supplies of their very own. Of course you have to have a fashion show when doing a makeover. The girls then enjoyed doing each others hair while watching a movie before settling in for the night. Everyone was finally asleep by midnight!!! Here are some fun pictures of Kiana's family party on Sunday. I think the color pink was the theme at this party! Enjoy this personalized song just for Kiana--sung by her dad--high on helium! :)

Utah
THE MANY FACES OF UTAH!
(Nana, Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Aunts, Brother-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and MANY more!)
Our main reason for going out to Utah this summer was to visit Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Mike who are serving a mission at temple square. They only have about a month left and then they will be coming home. They have really enjoyed their mission and it was a lot of fun for us to come and see them action while serving their mission.
During our stay in Utah we were able to attend the Oquirrh Temple Open House. It was wonderful to be able to walk through the temple and not only enjoy the beauty of the inside but to be able to be in their with family.
One of the highlights of our trip (in my opinion) was to go and listen to Music and the Spoken Word. We were able to sit in the new conference center on temple square and see a live broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. All I can say is BEAUTIFUL!
Why is it that when we go to Utah to visit family my kids seem to do bizarre things to get attention?
O.K., so we're spending an evening with my brother and his family and for dessert we decide to make smores. We pull out the marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and wire hangers to roast our treats over the BBQ. How does my son roast his marshmallow??? He chooses the no hands method! Now that's a way to roast your marshmallow and your face at the same time! ( I think I should mention that this new roasting style was my brother's idea in the first place!)
We were definately kept busy while we were in Utah. One of the days we were able to go up to Park City and enjoy the many fun rides and activites such as rock climbing, roller coaster, zip line, minature golf, life size maze, and the alpine slide. We were able to enjoy the day with Grandma & Grandpa along with Uncle Ron and his family. It was a long, hot sunny day, but it was SOOOOO much fun!
We may not always get along and we can sometimes be a bit crazy, but I love this family!
